Frequently Asked Adoption Questions
-
At Little Dog Rescue our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the dog's background and your family's needs. Every pup is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right dog with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pets permanent home.

Please note that Little Dog Rescue is a 100% volunteer, nonprofit organization. We do not receive funds from government agencies to help cover expenses. Adoption fees are thoughtfully considered and intentionally set to support the overall work of this rescue. The fee is NOT a purchase price for the dog.
Our adoption fees are based on each dog’s age, breed, and length of stay. Puppies and young purebred and small mixed breed dogs are “highly desirable” and will reflect a higher adoption fee. In addition to daily care costs, the adoption fee helps us cover travel, vaccination and medical costs for all of our dogs. Older pups, special needs dogs and retired breeder dogs come with significant medical expenses…a dental alone on a 5-year-old breeder pup can cost upwards of $1200. The adoption fees for these dogs do not cover even half of the funds required to rescue them and provide the medical care needed.
Our adoption fee is not the cost to buy a dog, but an overall show of support for our mission.
