Our Mission
Rescue. Nurture. Adopt.
At Little Dog Rescue, we are committed to saving lives and providing comprehensive care to every dog we rescue. We arrange transportation to bring dogs from their current location to our network or partner rescues, ensuring they get the help they need. Through strong partnerships with other rescues, we expand our reach, saving even more dogs. Our team provides all the necessary medical care to ensure that every dog is healthy and ready for adoption. We carefully screen each dog and match them with loving, permanent homes to ensure they get a second chance at happiness. Additionally, we are passionate about giving back to the community by offering education and support for spay/neuter programs, helping to reduce the number of unwanted animals in our area.
Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of neglected, abused and abandoned dogs by rescuing and placing them with loving families. We do this by helping to bring together a community of individuals, businesses, and organizations with a shared goal to help dogs in need live a better life.
Are you a rescue wanting to expand?
At Little Dog Rescue, we identify and source dogs in need of rescue, collaborating with partner rescues and shelters to save as many as possible. Once we locate a dog in danger, we ensure safe transport to our facility or a partner rescue. Our goal is to provide medical care, comfort, and ultimately, a loving forever home for every dog we save. Let’s work together to save more lives and give these dogs the second chances they deserve!
Our Adoption Fees
Little Dog Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit organization, and we do not receive government funding to cover our expenses. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully set to help support the vital work we do, but they are not the "purchase price" for the dog.
These fees vary based on the dog’s age, breed, and length of stay. Puppies and younger purebred or small mixed-breed dogs typically have a higher adoption fee due to their higher demand. The adoption fee helps us cover essential costs such as daily care, vaccinations, travel, and medical treatments. For older dogs, special needs dogs, and retired breeder dogs, significant medical expenses are common—like a dental procedure for a 5-year-old breeder dog that can cost upwards of $1,200. The fees for these dogs don’t even cover half of the funds needed to provide their care.
Our adoption fee is not a purchase price, but a contribution to the ongoing mission of rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need. Thank you for supporting us in our efforts to give these dogs the second chance they deserve.
Where We Rescue
At Little Dog Rescue we accept dogs from a variety of situations locally, nationally, and internationally. Our sources include owner surrenders, breeder release, out of state kill shelters and international rescue partners. We also attend broker and dog auctions to rescue dogs that otherwise would have been discarded, euthanized or used for endless breeding. We respect that varying opinions exist regarding some of our sources. A great deal of thought and careful consideration went into our decisions, and we choose to show up for the dogs. We strongly believe that all dogs deserve a good home regardless of where they got their start.

“If you want a dog that will love you unconditionally and be loyal till the day it dies, the best breed to get is called ‘Rescued’.”
-Ricky Gervais
